Teeth Bonding Treatments

The term “bonding” is typically associated with dental adhesives. However, composite bonding (also known as dental or tooth bonding) is a cosmetic procedure that enhances the appearance of your smile.

Dental bonding is an effective solution to address minor dental imperfections, such as small chips, cracks, or gaps between teeth.

Dentists typically concentrate on the front teeth when using a composite resin, similar to what they use for small fillings. This substance is malleable and can be shaped into the desired form before being solidified with a UV light and buffed to closely resemble a genuine tooth.

Composite Bonding Lewisham

Composite bonding is a popular dental procedure that can help improve the appearance of your smile. The first step is to consult your dentist. During this initial consultation, your dentist will assess your teeth to determine whether you are eligible for composite bonding and whether it is the right choice for your needs.

Assuming you are a good candidate for the procedure, the next step is to begin the composite bonding process. The process begins with your dentist matching the colour of the composite resin to your natural teeth. This ensures that the finished result is both natural-looking and aesthetically pleasing.

Once the colour has been matched, your dentist will prepare the surface of your teeth by applying a layer of adhesive material. This is followed by the application of the composite resin, which is shaped into the desired final shape of the tooth. A UV light is then used to quickly harden the material. Finally, any rough or uneven spots are buffed out and the resin is polished to match the rest of your teeth.

After your composite bonding procedure is complete, there is no waiting period required. You can immediately resume your regular eating and drinking habits. With proper care and maintenance, composite bonding can provide you with a beautiful, long-lasting smile that you can be proud of.

How long does it take?

At our clinic near to Lewisham, London a dentist usually requires 30 to 60 minutes for each tooth to make sure that the composite resin’s adhesion, shaping, and finishing are done correctly. The duration of your treatment will depend on the dentist’s expertise, productivity, and precision.

There is a variation in composite bonding procedures. Some individuals opt for dental bonding to enhance the appearance of a single tooth that doesn’t match the rest. In contrast, others undergo a complete transformation by changing the shape and spacing of their smile.

A Non-Invasive Procedure

Dental bonding is a convenient and straightforward procedure that doesn’t require the removal of any tooth/teeth, unlike crowns or porcelain veneers. This makes it a popular choice among patients seeking a non-invasive option.

I have excellent experience at this dental care centre. I have been attending since I came to live in London since 2009. Currently I'm going through a teeth straightening process which I'm so relieved is going well and I very appreciate all the support and transparency re costs that I'm receiving. I especially appreciate that this is an NHS dental practice.

My visit to the Dental Care Centre on Friday was a very happy experience, the surgery was very clean, receptionists very friendly and my dentist was very attentive.. I only had a check up, with work suggested for my follow up appointment, but I felt I was in good hands and i am someone who has an inbuilt fear of dentists.. recommended
